What Not to Do After Hair Color: 5 Costly Mistakes

You’ve finally had the hair color of your dreams — perhaps a sun-kissed balayage, dramatic red, or ash blonde that took forever to make look flawless at your Dubai ladies salon. However, when it comes to how fast it can disappear if you treat it the wrong way, that’s another thing that people don’t tell you.

Here’s the tea on what NOT to do after your coloring session (yes, girl, that bill wasn’t cheap, and your hair deserves better!).

1. Washing too early.

Come on, take a break. When you get home, don’t rush into that shower right away. It takes color time to set, particularly after toners and gloss. Wait for 2-3 days. Yes, even when it feels a little weird to skip wash day!

2. Using regular shampoo

Your supermarket shampoo? Yeah, toss it. Or give it to your cousin. You’re in need of stuff that doesn’t contain sulfates or colors. Get salon-quality wigs from Hair Talkz — we do not have any to rob you of your color like Dubai’s summer sun.

3. Skipping deep conditioning

Damage = Colour (even the mildest damage). Unless you’re incorporating masks and oil into your weekly routine, you shouldn’t expect your hair to retain its shine. At the salon, we always recommend a protein or keratin-based follow-up in 14 days after the salon session. You’ll get a thank you from your hair.

4. Sun and water? Major drama.

Beaches, pools, heat – all things Dubai. Protect your hair. If possible, wear a hat and/or use a UV spray or avoid chlorine dips. We have received clients to our practice with green tints after swimming, not cute.

5. Failing to provide touch-ups or toners

Color fades. So that dazzling caramel? It might go brassy. Get toned every 4-6 weeks. Hair Talkz is famous for its cheap hair color services in Dubai, so there’s no justification for looking washed out!
